Brazil

In the coming weeks, we shall be looking into the current odds set on various situations regarding the group stages, starting with the group containing hosts and favourites Brazil.

Numbers confirm that the current favourites to qualify from the group are Brazil and Croatia. The odds of the Selecao ending up as group winners are set at 1.25 whilst a first place for the Croatians set at 7.00, drawing the obvious conclusion of how much the Brazilians are favoured to top the group.

Mexico, however, are not far behind the Croatians’ trail with odds of winning the group set at 9.00, whilst the group’s underdogs Cameroon are obviously the least favoured with odds of ending up in first place set at 18.00.

Meanwhile, the Top 2 Finish odds reveal more interesting information. Whilst Brazil’s odds of ending up as first or second are set at 1.03, Croatia’s odds of the same position are set at 1.95 and Mexico’s set at 2.05. The lack of range between Croatia and Mexico‘s odds suggest that this group will most probably see a tussle for second place with Brazil ending up as group winners a high possibility.

Cameroon are also tipped to end up last in their group according to currents odds which are set at 1.55. The Straight Forecast odds also show how the majority are predicting Brazil to end up first and Croatia in second with odds set at 2.40, whilst replacing the Croatians with the Mexicans show odds set at 2.60.

In betting, numbers do paint the prediction of the majority, with a few interesting suggestions being brought up thanks to the current odds in place. Visit the sportsbook page for further information, or just to take part in the fun during the 2014 World Cup.
