Franck Ribery

Each week, we shall be looking into one of the greatest footballers in modern football and the impact they can potentially make when the World Cup commences in June.

Having just won the famous treble with Bayern Munich last season, as well as ending up in the top 3 shortlist for the Ballon d’Or, it’s fair to say that Ribery is currently enjoying his career peak. His performances have not strayed this season, celebrating a record-breaking Bundesliga title just last week after solidifying his status as one of the team’s untouchables.

Ribery’s touch and finesse is what makes him one of the world’s best players, added to his speed on the ball whilst in full form. It’s also important to note that whilst strikers have come and gone at the Bavarian club, Ribery and his Dutch team-mate Robben have during the years solidified their status in the squad, giving the club one of Europe’s best attacking setup on the flanks.

Ranking fourth in The Guardian’s ‘100 Best Footballers in the World’yes, this particular World Cup will be a special one for the player. He’s currently enjoying the best spell in his career, whilst this could be the last time he will be able to give his all for his country during his peak, considering he would be 35 years of age by the time the next World Cup commences.
