Each week, we shall be looking into one of the greatest footballers in modern football and the impact they can potentially make when the World Cup commences in June.

Though it may be hard to believe given the player’s consistency, Cristiano Ronaldo seems to have found himself in the topmost form of his life at this point in time. His unbelievable ratio of one goal per match (55 goals in the same amount of matches) during the 2012/13 season at Real Madrid is already an outstanding feat, whereas he has currently scored 32 goals in 31 matches for Los Blancos this season.

The 2013 Ballon d’Or winner is described by many as being one of the best two footballers in modern football alongside Lionel Messi, whilst others have also gone as far as referring to the Portuguese as being one of the best footballers in the sport’s history.

Earning several individual honours and breaking a multitude of records, Ronaldo was moulded by Alex Ferguson at Manchester United before becoming the complete footballer he’s become since his move to Madrid. Having to play second fiddle to Messi as the world’s best footballer for successive seasons did not deter the athlete in any way, if anything it spurred Ronaldo to reach ever greater achievements.

One can easily bet that this maestro will definitely make an impact in Brazil, whether it’s with goals, assists, sublime flicks, tricks or lobs, Ronaldo is certain to be one of the stars of the 2014 World Cup.
