Each week, we shall be looking into one of the greatest footballers in modern football and the impact they can potentially make when the World Cup commences in June.

Form is temporary, class is permanent. Whilst that famous phrase that has been uttered for numerous legendary footballers, Andrea Pirlo is the literal definition of the word class.

In the summer of 2011, after ten years of loyalty and service by the player, AC Milan then head coach Massimiliano Allegri thought that the magician from Brescia was past his best. This understandably caused an uproar within the AC Milan fanbase as well as neutrals worldwide, as true football fans knew deep down that this player still has bags of magic waiting to be unleashed.

Eventually the 2006 World Cup winner ended up with heated rivals Juventus on a free transfer, and what a transfer it turned out to be. Since then, the Bianconeri have won back to back league titles with the player being one of the most instrumental and influential ones in the squad. Pirlo was also one of the best players during the Euro 2012 tournament, dazzling audiences with his command of play, sublime through passes and crosses, defining him as a player every neutral looks up to.

Whilst certain fans opt to disfavour his approach to a match, lying deep in front of defence, waiting to pounce on any opposition error possible, many other fans tend to favour brain over brawn, as this player would do wonders for any club he would opt to represent. With this being his last World Cup, be sure to watch him in action as he is sure to provide incredible assists, astonishing free kicks or the odd cheeky penalty chip. Just ask Joe Hart.
