Costa do Sauípe is a slice of paradise on planet Earth. Surrounded by sand dunes, palm trees, lagoons and rivers, this city in the Brazilian state of Bahia is every tourist’s dream holiday. But on 6 December 2013, the world’s eyes will be turned on Costa do Sauípe for another reason.

This little bit of heaven hosted the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil Final Draw. At exactly 13:00 local time, the draw began and millions of people around the world watched it happen live online or on TV.

Coaches and players from the 32 national teams that qualified for the final stage of the tournament will finally find out who their adversaries will be in the first leg of matches. The teams were split up in four pots of eight teams seeded according to the FIFA World Ranking. The first pot consisted of host Brazil and the top seven teams of the world.
